Connection at the Community Level

Analysis & Reporting

CLIENT: Ohio Department of Health

ASK: Despite existing initiatives, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), recognized persistent challenges in reaching diverse communities and effectively implementing community-level strategies. To address these challenges, ODH enlisted the services of our consulting team to conduct comprehensive research, listening sessions, and data analysis.

SERVICES PROVIDED:

Benchmarking:  Our team initiated the project by conducting an extensive review of national best practices in sexual assault prevention and crisis intervention. This process involved analyzing programs from across the United States that demonstrated success in reducing incidents of sexual assault, engaging diverse communities, and providing effective crisis intervention services.

Listening Sessions:  Recognizing the importance of community input, we facilitated listening sessions across Ohio. These sessions engaged a wide range of stakeholders, including survivors, crisis intervention providers and prevention partners. The goal was to gather insights into the unique needs and challenges faced by different communities and to identify opportunities for more effective engagement, prevention and intervention services.

Data Analysis: We conducted a comprehensive analysis of existing data on sexual assault in Ohio. This included examining trends, identifying high-risk communities, and assessing the effectiveness of current prevention and intervention efforts. Our analysis aimed to highlight areas for improvement and to inform the development of targeted strategies.

RESULTS: REdCon provided the Ohio Department of Health with evidence-based strategies and actionable recommendations to enhance sexual assault prevention efforts across the state. By focusing on community engagement, inclusivity, and comprehensive education, the Department is better equipped to address the complex challenges of sexual assault prevention and to create a safer environment for all Ohioans.

"We are very appreciative of the work you have done; you and your team did a great job of setting up the listening sessions and interviews, and keeping us posted about progress.  We are really pleased with the scope of work you have done so far."
